Officers stated they were alerted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored substance

Around 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to police.

Cars, walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Officers state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then found numerous other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.

An important political figure stated the attack left him speechless and required to be solved quickly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
