Former Physician Accused of Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of committing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

Details of the Serious Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

One senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Charges

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities are urging individuals with information to contact the investigating team.
