Fighters laugh as they ride on the bed of a pick-up truck, hurrying past a line of nine corpses and moving towards the descending Sudan's evening sky.

"Observe such accomplishment. Look at this instance of genocide," one exclaims.

The individual smiles as he points the video equipment on his own face and his fellow fighters, their RSF insignia visible: "They shall all die this way."

The men are celebrating a atrocity that aid workers believe resulted in the deaths of in excess of 2,000 people in the African city of al-Fashir during October.

A City Cut Off from the World

Following their control of the community under encirclement for nearly two years, from the summer the militia proceeded to strengthen its control and prevent access for the surviving inhabitants.

Space-based imagery show that fighters started to construct a enormous sand wall - a built-up earthen wall - encircling the boundaries of the city, closing access routes and blocking aid.

During the encirclement escalated, multiple individuals were killed in an militia assault on a mosque on mid-September, while the United Nations reported 53 more were slain in aerial and cannon strikes on a makeshift community in the autumn.

Disturbing Video Shows Defenseless People Gunned Down

In the early morning on late October the RSF conquered the remaining government strongholds and seized the primary base in the urban area, the command center of the Army Division, as the government forces withdrew.

Among the most disturbing recordings to surface and examined depicted the aftermath of a massacre at a campus structure on the western side of the city, where scores dead bodies were seen spread throughout the area.

An older person clad in a robe sat isolated amongst the bodies. The individual looked to glance as a fighter carrying with a rifle walked descending the steps towards the individual. Raising his rifle, the fighter released a one shot at the individual, who dropped to the surface still.

"How come is this individual yet breathing," one militiaman cried. "Kill this person."

Orbital photography recorded on late October seemed to substantiate that killings were also performed on the thoroughfares of al-Fashir, based on a report published by the academic research center.

One witness who provided testimony said they had seen "numerous of our family members being executed - the victims were assembled in a single location and everyone murdered."

RSF Commanders Seek to Implement Public Relations

In the days that ensued from the atrocity, RSF chief conceded that his forces had carried out "wrongdoings" and stated the occurrences would be investigated.

Included among arrested was subsequent to a investigation documenting his executions. Deliberately staged and edited recording shared on the RSF's formal Telegram channel reveal him being led into a cell at a jail on the outskirts of el-Fasher.

At the same time, the paramilitary force and connected social media accounts began attempting to reshape the story.

Posts presenting its combatants distributing supplies to inhabitants were shared by various accounts, while the force's public relations unit shared multiple videos allegedly to show the proper treatment of army prisoners of war.

Regardless of the online initiative being used by the paramilitary, their conduct in el-Fasher have generated worldwide outrage.
